Industry and its impact on Environment and Society
Introduction Development and advancement of human society has evolved through innumerable phases of changes.Through the onset and growth of agriculture and the setting up of industries initiated the spur of growth both in respect of economy and human resources. Human society can never ignore the natural surroundings in the midst of which it started its journey. In this paper I propose to explicate the relation among the three significant factors in human life--Nature, Society and Industry. Objective We proceed to enquire into such a relation from Nature in which lies the human society struggling to move forward through industrial and scientific enterprises. Here we concentrate on industrial development and the environment. Industrial development is associaied with pollution and can always interfere with the interests of the natural resources. Pollution is the most significant effect of industrial development. These are actually world-wide problems with special stress on depletion of ozone layer, greenhouse effect and the loss of biodiversity. Methodology The trend of the modern society in the globalized world is to reduce the hazards inflicted on the biosphere as a result of industrialisation. Actions should be taken before it is too late to protect the environment. Conclusion Discussion on the impossible task of equating the two characters-- Industry and Environment compels one to think hard about the future of the living beings in the biosphere of the mother earth.
